The Hyatt Regency Irvine receives mixed reviews, with recent guests praising cleanliness and service, particularly at the club lounge. However, recurring issues of bugs, inconsistent follow-up, billing errors, and delayed services are significantly detracting from the experience. Value for money is a major concern for many reviewers.
Stayed over here when we were spending the night to watch the Odyssey at the regal IMAX spectrum. The Hyatt is a wonderful hotel very clean, great service excellent drums, clean bathrooms and sheets, quiet. We really enjoyed the stay there and would stay again. If you visit consider joining the club, which is $50 and you get dinner breakfast and snacks, maybe drinks. The hotel is located in Corporate center very safe parking is expensive $42 for sale parking for 48 for valet. There are no other options. The other parking options nearby listed for $20 only if you have a monthly pass and that is not included overnight. The motion detector lights at the bottom of the beds were a little bothersome if you tossed and turned a lot at night, they would turn on, but not so bad if you throw a pillow over them, lol. The refrigerator did not cool our stuff as much as I would’ve liked, but did the job and it’s nice with a window and lighted inside. He got a wine opener from the reception for free.
Unfortunately, our recent stay was very disappointing. We found bugs running around in our room and even recorded a video. I reported the issue to the hotel manager, who said he would investigate, but he never followed up. Said he will let housekeeping know. We booked two rooms and arrived around 10:00 a.m. requesting early check-in, weeks in advanced. However, we were not contacted until approximately 3:00 p.m., when we were told that only one of the two rooms was ready. I also requested a birthday card for my nephew and my son, as we have celebrated here every year for the past three years. The card was never placed in the room. Cookies and milk were delivered later, but in previous years the hotel had provided a cake, cookies, milk, and Coke Zero—my son’s favorite drink in room before we arrive. We specifically enjoy staying at this Hyatt because it still offers Coke products. The checkout experience was also frustrating. A rude male front-desk employee called and insisted that we vacate the room by 11am and it’s already 3:00 p.m. I explained that I had Globalist benefits through the Guest of Honor and had been told at check-in that we had a 4:00 p.m. late checkout. He initially argued that I was only a Discoverist member and had overstayed. After checking the reservation, he acknowledged that I was correct and said he would adjust it. Between the bugs, lack of follow-up, missed birthday request, delayed room readiness, and inconsistent information about our benefits, this stay fell far below our expectations. We have enjoyed this hotel in the past, but this experience was extremely disappointing.
I have been staying with Hyatt hotels for many years, and unfortunately, this is probably one of the worst Hyatt properties I have ever experienced. The value for money is simply unacceptable, and the way additional charges are handled makes you feel like you are constantly being charged for absolutely everything. The service was extremely poor and far below what you would expect from a Hyatt hotel. For example, bottles of water are placed in the room at around $7 each and are then charged directly to your credit card. But the most unbelievable part was being charged for pool towels that were supposedly “not returned.” We discovered additional charges on our credit card for towels we had used at the pool, without any proper verification or specific authorization. The same applies to the food and coffee: extremely overpriced for a quality and level of service that are nowhere near what you would expect from a hotel carrying the Hyatt name. After many years of staying with this hotel group, I am genuinely shocked and disappointed by the way this property operates. Hyatt should have much stronger quality-control procedures to verify both the level of service and the billing practices of its hotels. As shown in the attached photo, these charges are very real. At this price level, guests should at least expect transparency, decent service, and not to discover questionable additional charges on their credit card after using normal hotel facilities. This experience felt less like hospitality and more like being constantly exploited as a guest. Extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, completely unworthy of the standards Hyatt claims to represent. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Irvine on June 26, 2026, and had an amazing experience. Princess was incredibly helpful during check-in and made us feel very welcome. She was friendly, professional, and gave us helpful information about the hotel’s amenities. Self parking was available and very convenient, although it was a little pricey. Our room was super clean and smelled fresh as soon as we entered, which made a great first impression. The only area that could be improved was the water pressure in the shower, as it was a bit weak. Overall, the hotel was amazing, and we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely stay here again!
I had a wonderful experience at the club lounge during my stay at Hyatt Regency Irvine. The club was very nice, comfortable, and well cared for, but what really made it stand out was the excellent service from Zack, Jose, and Christian. Each of them was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout my visit. They made sure everything was taken care of and created a welcoming atmosphere that made the lounge feel even more enjoyable. Their hospitality truly added to the overall experience, and I appreciated their kindness and great customer service. Thank you, Zack, Jose, and Christian, for making the club lounge experience such a pleasant one.
